The one of the main thoroughfares for Sault Sainte Maire is business route 75 or 3 mile rd east to Mackinac Trail north to Ashmun st. Just off of business 75 @ near the end East 20th street on the left is the entrance to Sault Seal Recreation Area is "the City's major outdoor winter recreational facility."But in the summer it has a 18 hole disc golf course, soccer fields, nature?and?running?trails and you can explore a nearby?wetland?pond by?walking?on?the?200’?boardwalk.I in winter the park makes use of a large hill (from the top of this hill quite a view) on it is seven tubing runs with two lifts and tow ropes for both the ski/snowboard hill and tubing runs.
For $5.00USD admission, a nice canteen and warm-up area, they supply the tubes and haul the rider up the hill as well....how can anyone go wrong for an afternoon with kids and grandkids. They also have snowboard runs, ski run and an area for sliding if you bring your own sledding apparatus. Also the prices for food and refreshments is fair and parking is ample. Great attraction
In mid December this park really comes alive with many activities such as Minneapolis Hill that includes seven large tubing runs that not only send participants careening down the steep slope on their own city-issued tube, but also gives them a ride back to the top with a conveyor system. A second area on the slope is dedicated to those on skis and snowboards who can hit the various obstacles to perform tricks or bypass those to practice their skills. Finally the cross country ski network draws others to the back side of the hill where they can traverse the trails at their own paceSo when the snow and cold are present and your in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan remember there's winter fun nearby.
